Dear Residents',
We've come up with a new Security SOP which will take effect June 1st 2025.
Residents' will be updated if any other amendments are made.
This SOP will be displayed in all the guardhouses (Both versions - BM & Eng).
We needed the Security team to be more aware of Our Security needs to ensure tighter security for Our Community at all times.
The Security team should be monitored "BY ALL" and an assessment on their performance will be carried out every quaterly by the Committee.
Please do let us know if you notice a situation where Security is lax. We will gladly take it up with Our Security Manager Mr. Rahim to improve.
We would also like to thank Mr. Asok (comm) for helping to put this SOP together.

Prosedur Operasi Standard Keselamatan (SOP)

SOP Keselamatan ini menggariskan prosedur standard untuk Pengawal Keselamatan (SG) yang ditugaskan oleh Platinum Security* dan yang bertugas di ARA Residences.
Tanggungjawab
Semua SG bertanggungjawab untuk mematuhi SOP ini.
Platinum Security bertanggungjawab untuk memastikan pengawal dilatih dengan betul dan mengikut prosedur ini.
Prosedur Operasi
Keselamatan
1. Waktu syif SG adalah dari 8.00 pagi (Anjakan Hari) dan 8.00 malam (Anjakan Malam).
2. SG yang masuk tiba sekurang-kurangnya 15 minit sebelum syif bermula, log masuk dan terima taklimat syif daripada SG yang akan keluar. SG masuk untuk memeriksa CCTV, lampu dan barrier gate berfungsi dengan baik.
3. SG yang bertugas untuk melengkapkan dan menandatangani buku rekod syif sebelum penyerahan syif.
SG untuk merekodkan sebarang aktiviti, insiden dan pemerhatian penting semasa syif mereka termasuk tingkah laku kasar atau agresif oleh pelawat dan penduduk yang mana butiran nombor kereta, nama orang dan nombor unit (jika berkenaan) akan direkodkan. SG untuk mengelakkan konflik atau pertengkaran dengan orang tersebut.
4. Untuk pelawat, SG meminta pelawat untuk memegang lesen memandu mereka ke kamera CCTV yang disediakan dan merekodkan rumah yang dilawati serta masa masuk. Pelawat hendaklah mengambil "Plakat Bernombor Pelawat" dari tong yang disediakan. Plakat ini hendaklah diserahkan kepada SG di pintu keluar.
5. SG tidak boleh membenarkan mana-mana orang masuk kalau tidak memberikan maklumat yang diperlukan yang dinyatakan dalam perkara (4) di atas.
6. SG untuk melaporkan insiden serius dengan segera kepada Orang Hubungan Kecemasan (rujuk Senarai Hubungan Kecemasan) dan memaklumkan Perkhidmatan Kecemasan yang berkaitan jika perlu (Polis, Bomba).
7. SG untuk merujuk kepada Pengurus/Penyelia Keselamatan untuk mendapatkan nasihat dan kelulusan tentang sebarang insiden sebelum menyiarkan pada "Ara Sekuriti group chat"
8. Barrier gate tidak boleh dibiarkan terbuka kecuali pada waktu yang ditetapkan.
9. Pengawal hendaklah bersikap sopan, terlibat dan berwaspada pada setiap masa. Tidak membongkok di kerusi atau tidur.
Pengemasan
1. SG hendaklah memakai pakaian seragam yang disediakan dan kasut. Pakaian seragam hendaklah bersih dan kemas.
2. Rumah pengawal hendaklah sentiasa bersih dan kemas
3. Semua barang longgar untuk disimpan dalam ruang simpanan yang disediakan.
4. Haiwan tidak dibenarkan masuk/simpan di dalam rumah pengawal.
5. Rumah pengawal akan tertakluk kepada pemeriksaan rawak oleh Jawatankuasa ARA RA.

Security Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)
Effective date 1st June 2025
Scope
This Security SOP outlines the standard procedures for Security Guards (SG’s) employed by
Platinum Security* on duty at ARA Residences.
Responsibilities
All SG’s are responsible for adhering to this SOP.
Platinum Security is responsible for ensuring guards are properly trained and follow these
procedures.
Operating Procedures
Security
1. SG shift hours are from 8.00 am (Day Shift) and 8.00 pm (Night Shift)
2. Incoming SG to arrive at least 15 minutes before shift start, sign in, and receive shift
briefing from outgoing SG. Incoming SG to check that CCTV, lighting and barrier
gates are functioning properly.
3. On duty SG to complete and sign shift record book before handover of shift.
SG’s to record any significant activities, incidents and observations during their shift
including rude or aggressive behavior by visitors and residents for which details of
car number, name of person and unit number (if applicable) to be recorded. SG to
avoid conflict or argument with such persons.
4. For visitors, SG to request visitor to hold up their driver’s licence to the CCTV
camera provided and record the house being visited and time of entry. Visitors are to
take a “Visitor’s Numbered Placard” from the bin provided. This placard is to be
surrendered to the SG at the exit gate.
5. SG to deny entry to any person who does not provide the required information stated
in item 4 above.
6. SG to report serious incidents immediately to Emergency Contact Person (refer to
Emergency Contact List) and inform relevant Emergency Services if required (Police,
Bomba).
7. SG to refer to the Security Manager/Supervisor for advice and approval on any
incident before posting on the security chat group.
8. Barriers are not to be left open except during designated hours.
9. Guards to be polite, engaged and alert at all times. No slouching in their chairs or
sleeping.
Housekeeping
1. SG’s to be properly attired in the uniform provided and shoes. Uniforms should be
clean and presentable.
2. Guardhouses to be kept clean and tidy at all times
3. All loose items to be put away in storage space provided.
4. No animals allowed in guardhouse.
5. Guardhouses will be subject to random inspections by ARA RA Committee.

In the month of May-September 2021, we are glad to report there is ZERO security incidence in our Ara areas; albeit one drunkard resident incident in May, which was promptly reported to the BSD police station. This incident was handled by our security provider under Jimmy.

For security purposes, this gate will be closed permanently, starting 1st July 2021. Location: Jalan SD7/5B, facing the main road.

Dear Ara Residents,
Both the current Telegram and previous WhatsApp chatgroups were set up by Jimmy, the Security Provider to communicate Security and Safety issues affecting Ara Residences. Since its beginning many residents have complained to the Administrators that both the previous WhatsApp and the current Telegram have been inundated with many NON-Security and Safety issues, causing inconveniences to many Residents. They have kindly made various suggestions including re-setting the Telegram to revert to its original purpose which was to only "broadcast" Security and Safety matters. Any suggestions and proposals should instead (as in the original proposals) be communicated directly to the Main Guardhouse Suggestion Box (addressed to the Ara Committee with your contact and address details) to Mr Jimmy directly or to any of the Ara Committee Members (which include the Sector Representatives) and the Chairman.
In view of this, Jimmy have in response to these proposals, reset the Telegram as proposed and we hope this new arrangements will address the message-inundation problem. Henceforth kindly forward all your proposals to the above-mentioned parties or the ARA Residences Suggestion Box located at the Main Guardhouse.

ARA RESIDENCES SECURITY A & B CHATGROUPS
1. As informed to all Ara Residents in the "ARA Security A & B" chatgroups, they have been requested to migrate to TELEGRAM (which can hold more than the maximum 256 phone numbers in WhatsApp by 30March2021 to facilitate easier communication as A SINGLE PLATFORM instead of two. This has been done with TELEGRAM having more than 350 names and they are PAYING RESIDENTS. I understand Jimmy should be still be inviting more names (Paying Residents) into the ARA TELEGRAM.
2. HENCEFORTH ALL COMMUNICATION WITH ARA RESIDENTS WILL BE THROUGH TELEGRAM
3. Jimmy as Administrator have deleted all names in both the WhatsApp chatgroups except "Ara Residences Security A" which is this chatgroup and retained ONLY ARA RESIDENCES COMMITTEE MEMBERS. This is to facilitate communication between the Ara Committee members and Jimmy on Security and Safety matters and any pertinent or relevant issue.
4. Kindly use this platform to communicate with Jimmy and the Committee members.

Dear Ara Residents,
Police Patrol Cars or Police Personnel in Ara Neighbourhood
The following are noted:
1. Patrol cars patrol our Ara Neighbourhood as well as all other sectors as part of their NORMAL duties. They are therefore NO need to be alarmed when one sees a Patrol car patrolling our ARA roads.
2. Kindly note that our ARA neighbourhood is NOT a GUARDED and Gated Development and as such ALL our roads and lanes etc are PUBLIC PROPERTY. Police cars are expected to come in without obstruction.
3. They will sign in at the Main Guardhouse or they may not. It is up to them.
4. Often Police personnel may enter any place including ARA for a SPECIFIC assignment DEMANDING CONFIDENTIALITY after revealing their identity that they are from the police at the Main Guardhouse. Our static guards are expected NOT to trial them as they may be from the CID or Special Branch (Plain Clothes) and they are NOT in a Police Patrol car. On one occasion, one of our static guards who thought he was doing his job, trailed the police vehicle. He was warned and his IC details were recorded by the police officers for obstructing their work in trailing them.
5. If there was a crime etc that can be made public, we will obtain official news from the relevant authorities and we will inform the Residents via Telegram. Otherwise "no news is good news".
6. Nevertheless it is good that we all be vigilant in our neighbourhood.

Guardhouse at Mustiara
The Security Provider was engaged to provide PRIMARILY security services at the Main Guardhouses and to Ronda (patrol) as per the Clocking System. They are not engaged to render traffic control for private purposes (unless they are have been informed in advance so that they can then reorganize in their guardpost or Ronda duties) in the entire Ara neighbourhood as there are only a LIMITED number of guards employed manning the 3 guard posts plus Ronda (patrol) and Electronically clock in the designated Clocking points in the roads in the entire ARA neighbourhood.
Due to the limited resources, it is therefore important that residents cooperate by resolving non-security issues like parking, traffic, animal and neighbourly disputes by been considerate themselves ...unless it becomes untoward like the recent midnight "drunkard-case" which disturbed the peaceful stay of the neighbours and is now a police case at 7/4B....and other serious cases be ot traffic or otherwise.
Being that as may, we acknowledge that there is no perfect security service as even Capitol Hill's security can be breached... except that there is always room for improvement for the security service for a reasonable sum of RM70/per month (which many choose not to contribute even though they enjoy the security service).
On the Scope of Security Services may I share with all of us two real incidences in ARA for us to consider the scope of the Security Services.
INCIDENT 1,
A neighbour (A) had parked on Resident "B"'s "adopted car park" on the public road-shoulder which he had tarmac. The Security Provider was asked by "B" to tell "A" to remove the car. "A" was informed by the Security Provider. "A" retorts back and say the car park is on public land and refused to relocate. The end of the story was that the Security Provider was blamed for not doing his job to get A to stop parking at the adopted car-park and B stopped paying the monthly security fees blaming the Security Provider's incompetence.
INCIDENT 2
Resident C complained to Security Provider that Resident D's House is renovating on Saturday at 2.00pm and should stop because it is disturbing his Saturday. (NOTE: MBPJ allows work on Saturday from 9.00am to 5.00pm)
Security Provider goes to D's House and stop the workers because of C's complaint. Workers stop work and the kepala told Resident D. Resident D comes to Site on the same afternoon and scolds Security Provider why he stopped his workers and who is going to compensate for the hours of No-Work and demanded to know which neighbour complained. Security Provider tells D it was C. C confronts D. D gets angry and blames Security Provider for a barrage of complaints (I still have the recordings).
From the above 2 incidents, both are personal matters between 2 neighbours. Is it the duty of the Security Provider to be involved as part of their scope? From the surface we often say yes...because we want a 3rd party to solve our problem as it is not nice to tell our neighbour. Hence the Security Provider may often be blamed for not doing OUR job.
In saying this it is absolutely ok to contact them if they are emergencies, break-ins and all areas involving Security or the lack of it.
As noted the Security Provider shall primarily provide SECURITY services at the Main Guardhouse (& Ronda to locate suspicious characters and possible break-ins) and not solve neighbourly problems. Neighbours should solve directly with neighbours their personal problems or go see MBPJ. The Security Provider cannot enforce such issues plus we must bear in mind our roads are Public Roads too and MBPJ (or the authorities) owns them.
Hopefully it may help clarify the scope of the Security Provider for all of us ara Residents.
As to the legitimacy of the security-guards and operations they have been appropriately vetted and approved by KDN (Kementerian Dalam Negeri) for Platinum 2 Security Services. The certificates are displayed at the Main Guardhouse.
